all or nothing...

Dear Em,
This weekend is kinda a big deal.

We're going to do it.

We're going all in.

Are we going to the casino? Nope. Actually far from it, because we're spending the entire weekend at home (this almost never happens). We completely cleared our schedules & we're going to...wait for it...potty train.

We're ready. Well, we have no idea if you're ready but your daddy & I are ready. You see, changing 3-4 poopy diapers a day gets a little old after two years. That's right. 3-4 EVERY DAY (& that only covers the poopy ones). You have a very healthy digestive system.

You say you're ready. I'm pretty sure this just means you're ready to wear big girl undies. We got you princess ones. They're pink. They have princesses. You're pretty much ecstatic about potty training...probably until you realize that potty training means not pooping in diapers 3-4 times a day going in the potty.

We have Pampers Easy Ups. We have big-girl undies. We have a potty & a potty seat (in case you are obstinately opposed to one or the other).

So, wish us luck. Say a little prayer. Cross your fingers. We have no idea what we're doing have an idea of the approach we're going to take. With that said, if any readers out there have some advice for first time parents & a two year old with a healthy digestive system, omg, please help us leave us some love in the comment section.

I'm having nightmares of poop everywhere.

I love you so,
Mommy

  1. She'll do great. We used the same approach... diapers one day, undies the next- all or nothing. Just remind her if she has to go to tell you guys, and take her regardless every 1.5 to 2 hours... and if she doesn't go hang out in the bathroom for a while. When she does go- throw a HUGE party. Candy, smiles, hugs... you know :-) Good luck, you'll all do great!

  2. Thanks, Scott. These are such great pointers :). Hopefully we have the same success you did.
