Dear Em,
With the Winter Olympics beginning today, I thought I would share the first Olympics I can remember- the Awana Olympics 1993. Awana was a church youth program I participated in from 4th grade to 6th grade. There were songs, athletic activities, stories, bible verse memorization, & hanging out with other fun girls my age. It was one of my favorite after school activities growing up, & the Awana Olympics were the highlight.
My Olympic events in sixth grade were tug of war & the three-legged-race. We probably won't see those events in this year's Winter Olympics, but if they do have them & need an alternate, I was a pretty great competitor. I mean, my hair alone was award winning.
